I can't even tell anyone how depressed I am because then they won't talk to me anymore.

Which is silly, because they won't talk to me anyway.

That's rather passive-aggressive of me. Fact is, I'm wicked depressed right and it seems like there's no one I can talk to about it.

Is the feeling like you can't talk part of the depression?

More that there's no one who wants to talk to me.

And I honestly have a hard time ascribing that to depression -- which I admit may just be part of the depression -- because experiential data seems to indicate no one I know desires to speak with me: unanswered calls, unreturned voice mails, ignored/unresponsive instant messages, etc.

My admittedly short list of people to call dwindles to zero very rapidly, although much of that is because there are people I just don't bother to call anymore because they never answer.

From the conversation in question, you weren't giving much to work with. :P

I was trying to not do the "Wah, I'm depressed" thing.

I desire both to consume and retain my baked confection.

Besides, this started off as passive-aggressive bitching, so it was perfectly in keeping with my IM.

Hmm. I'd offer to talk except I've developed an AIM allergy... being online makes me twitchy.

If you send me an email and tell me your woes, I'll write back with anti-woe feedback. No, really, I'm serious. csarina. at. marlboro. dot. edu. There's nothing I like more than hearing about other people's depressivity*. Makes me feel less like a freak. Plus it would seem I'm relatively good at helping. At least that's what I've heard.

*Okay, there are a few things I like more. Obscure indie bands, orgasms, stuff like that. But the point is I don't dislike it.

Yah, for me it would be a three-way split between obscure indie bands, orgasms, and sharing other people's problems. :-)

Nicola Bryant usually just throws her iPod into random; she swears by music as a mood changer. Darnedest thing is, I went ahead and tried it and it does pretty good. I keep forgetting I have Light-Up Alien Pussy in the mix.

Light-Up Alien Pussy

Wait, the band? Or an actual light-up alien pussy?

Yeah, it's a song by one of the two bands called Scrapple. Their website seems gone now but they did have a prop they used during the song.

I know we are basically just LJ-friends, but I like you and think you are cool. FYI.

I am sorry you are feeling down.

Yeah, man, I was thinkin' like if I lived in Burlington and didn't have enough friends, I'd go straight to the Beagle.

Hey man, give me a ring if you need to talk. I'm usually available.

I'll be back from NY tomorrow night if you want to get together at all.

How can I talk to you when you're never online when I am?
You could always call me. . .

In the past when I've called, you always seemed busy, so I don't try now.
