Prophetic
Back in 2002 or so, in my introductory communications class, there was a speaker from a cable company. He was the last in a series of speakers covering the current media -- newspaper, broadcast, etc. The second half of his presentation was mostly about how cable companies wanted to make the move to video on-demand content, and a per-program fee as well.
I remember most of the class seemed to stare at him, dumb-founded by the thought of having to pay for individual shows. He seemed very uncomfortable with the unspoken reaction.
And look where we are today.
