I got an email from the Apple repair people last night. They claim Hex is in perfect working order and they could not replicate the problem I reported.
I find this extremely curious, given that when I sent Hex off in the mail, it was 100% non-functional. The thing wouldn't even try to boot up, regardless of being plugged into the wall or not. I wonder if it will work for me when I get it back.
